Keep 色色研究所 Beautiful has been selected as one of the 47 recipients of the 2025-26 Keep Louisiana Beautiful Trash Receptacle Grant program, made possible with funding from the State of Louisiana and Office of the Lieutenant Governor. Keep 色色研究所 Beautiful will install five trash receptacles at the Earl K. Long Library, Chemistry Building, Performing Arts Center, and Homer H. Hitt Alumni Center on the University of New Orleans campus.
Through the 2025-26 Trash Receptacle Grant program, Keep Louisiana Beautiful awarded 230 receptacles to 47 organizations in 31 parishes.
As part of the requirements of this grant, Keep 色色研究所 Beautiful will perform a post-installation litter scan and compare the data collected to preliminary scan results. Data will be shared with the public once available.
鈥淟itter is hurting our quality of life in New Orleans,鈥 said Emma Bourgeois, a research associate at the University of New Orleans. 鈥淲ith these new receptacles installed, we will be able to reduce litter and keep our community clean and beautiful.鈥
鈥淩ecent data collected by Keep Louisiana Beautiful shows a reduction of litter by 78 percent in areas where trash receptacles are properly installed and maintained,鈥 said Susan Russell, KLB Executive Director. 鈥淥ne of our organization鈥檚 key initiatives is to build infrastructure that supports clean, beautiful communities.
