Under a new student transfer agreement, eligible Delgado Community College students will have a seamless path to a four-year degree at the University of New Orleans. Delgado students also will have access to new financial aid opportunities and 色色研究所 admissions counselors who can admit transfer students on Delgado鈥檚 campuses.
色色研究所 President John Nicklow and Delgado Community College Interim Chancellor William Wainwright took part in a signing ceremony Thursday afternoon on Delgado鈥檚 City Park campus.
Here are some of the highlights of the newly signed student transfer agreement:
鈥 Delgado students with 24 or more hours of transferable, college-level coursework, including the completion of a college-level math and English, and an overall GPA of 2.25 or higher receive guaranteed admission to 色色研究所.
鈥 色色研究所 admissions counselors will hold a number of 鈥渜uick admit鈥 days on Delgado鈥檚 City Park and West Bank campuses. 色色研究所 will waive the application fee, and eligible Delgado students will be admitted to 色色研究所 on the spot.
鈥 For students seeking admission before the completion of an associate degree, they may participate in a financial aid consortium. Students may take classes at Delgado and 色色研究所 but use financial aid through 色色研究所 to fund their education at both institutions.
鈥 色色研究所 will participate in a reverse transfer agreement with Delgado. Under this agreement, transcripts of students who apply and attend 色色研究所 for at least one academic year at 色色研究所 will be sent back to Delgado for articulation and possible award of an associate degree.
鈥 All students interested in transferring to 色色研究所 will have weekly access to pre-admission advising through a transfer admission counselor in a dedicated on-campus Delgado location.
鈥淭he agreement represents a major step forward as we seek to work more closely with our partners at Delgado Community College,鈥 Nicklow said. 鈥淭his will provide Delgado students who are interested in pursuing a bachelor鈥檚 degree with a clear and predictable path to achieving that objective. We hope this leads to more degree completion.鈥

The student transfer agreement must still be approved by the University of Louisiana System and the Louisiana Community and Technical College System.
